Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

The Take ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

  • Account info: email, display name, username, and (optionally) the city/ZIP you provide during onboarding.
  • Your takes: the slider values, guesses, and follow-up answers you submit.
  • Social graph: friends you connect with and tribes you join.
  • Device & usage data: basic analytics (pages viewed, taps, errors) and standard log data such as IP and user-agent.

2. How we use it

To run the product (show you results, compare you with friends, build aggregate distributions), keep accounts secure, send transactional and optional notifications, and improve the experience. Aggregate, anonymized data may be shown publicly (e.g. "62% of the country said X"). We do not sell your personal information.

3. Sharing

We share data with service providers who help us operate (hosting, auth, email, analytics) under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. Your choices

You can update profile details, disable notifications, or delete your account from Profile settings. Deleting your account removes your personal identifiers; aggregate, anonymized contributions may persist in distributions.

5. Children

The Take is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
